The sad part? Let's say you are great in art, and you love it. Your joy comes from creating, but when it comes to math, forget it. How does a reasonable society handle this? I don't know, but this is how our society handles it. We take the gifted art student and give him, get this, more math. Did I mention that in order to give him more math we need to take away art class?
Back to me - I still can't fix the bike. My wife calls her dad. This used to bother me, as if his gift makes me less useful. The idea implies there is only so much worth to go around. I get intimidated at times by those who are more skilled. Instead of appreciating their talent, I hide my incompetence. I want to be independent, but I need others. Instead of pouting or feeling inferior, here is a list of things I can fix:
- Errers in grammar and speling (I did that on perpose.)
- Coffee
- Computer Issues (software)
- Boo-boos
- My gaze (though it does sound rather creepy)
- Dinner (with a phone and/or internet access)
- My hair
- The World Series
- A sandwich
- Your wagon if you aren't careful!
